Now on GameTap: Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and American McGee's Grimm: Ep 07: The Devil and His Three Golden Hairs

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and American McGee's Grimm: Ep 07: The Devil and His Three Golden Hairs are both on GameTap now. Be warned that Kane & Lynch is 7.15 GiB if you have the GameTap Client set to "Download full game," and it also requires the free Games for Windows – LIVE software to be installed.

I'm downloading Kane & Lynch now, I'll check it out later.

Took Chris bowling in Albany, just got back, feet hurt, tired. That is all.

Alone in the Dark (2008) ending

This will spoil the ending. You've been warned.

I started Alone in the Dark from the beginning since I hadn't played it in a while, and I just finished it. This isn't a full blown review, I just wanted to talk about a few things, mainly the ending.

First, I actually fell through the ground in Central Park once when I exited a vehicle in just the right spot, I couldn't do it again to get it on "camera" unfortunately. But as usual, the game loaded quickly and I was right back at where I died, which just made the event funny instead of annoying.

Second, it's a great game, and there's not much to gripe about if you don't try to drag enemies into fire, which is extremely painful with Keyboard & Mouse controls. Thankfully there's plenty of alternatives to dragging enemies, so this is easily avoided.

My new avatar

I made a new avatar based on one of the pictures of me on the "About Me" page. Check the attachments below to see it, along with the rejects and my old avatar.

I probably won't bother updating my avatar on anything but YouTube and Steam for now.

Buggy Creative drivers

I was updating my GPU drivers, so I went ahead and updated to the latest drivers for my Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value too. Don't do it folks. The 2006-10-09 (v02.09.0016) driver works just fine, and if you install it instead of the driver on the CD, you don't get all of the bloat, just an Audio Console. The 2008-07-17 (v02.18.0001) driver that I had updated to, gave me volume options for around 8 speakers, even though it remembered my speaker setting as "Headphones." And while it let me mute my microphone and enable the +20dB microphone boost, it wouldn't actually remember either o

NVIDIA ForceWare v177.92 beta and NVIDIA PhysX v8.08.18

NVIDIA released ForceWare v177.92 beta and PhysX v8.08.18. PhysX is bundled with the latest ForceWare, so you don't need to download it separately if you're up to date.

There's not much to say about the new PhysX, but the new ForceWare increases 3D performance in several games. Check out "Release Highlights" for their examples of the improvement.

Storms, a short story, movies, new demos and games, and TweakGuides talk

It's stormed a lot, so I've been unplugged for almost 3-5 days I think, except for about an hour when I had an idea for a short story and wanted to write it down.

I watched Cloverfield (twice) and I Am Legend today. Cloverfield was really good and definitely earned a 5 out of 6. Something interesting to note is that, I went to Wikipedia to find something about the sequel again, and ended up reading that in the Rob & Beth clip that plays at the end of the movie, you can see something fall from the sky to the lake, and then you can hear a sound from the monster. That just reinforces the fact that I miss shit sometimes, a lot of times it seems like :(. The second time I watched Cloverfield was with the family, and that just proved that I quickly and easily suspend my disbelief while watching movies or playing games, which isn't bad for the sake of enjoyment during a movie, but it's like watching a VGW and seeing the player notice a bunch of things that I just looked over because it fit the game's style :(.

A fix for Serious Sam II on GameTap

Serious Sam II wouldn't start because it thought the disc wasn't inserted. The fix is simple though, just fully download the game :P.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2: Leipzig Trailer (HD, Steam)

The old Command & Conquer games really got me burned out on RTS', so I never played Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War for more than 20 minutes or so. But an awesome trailer for Dawn of War 2 just got released on Steam, so check it out: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2: Leipzig Trailer.

NVIDIA ForceWare (GPU) driver v177.83, and the GeForce Power Pack

I read this news at TweakGuides.com, thanks Koroush Ghazi ;).

Note: The new ForceWare driver isn't showing up on NVIDIA or EVGA's download page's just yet, so use the direct download links below if you want it now.
Note 2: The new PhysX System Software isn't showing up on NVIDIA's download page just yet either.
Note 3: There's a newer ForceWare driver available, but it's apparently just a special beta that adds OpenGL v3.0 support, so that developers can start making OpenGL v3.0 applications.
